Supra 128
The Fone Company BBSes will be back
Both the Color 64 and Supra 128 BBSes will be back, likely over Memorial Day weekend 2021. As with the best laid plans, time has not allowed me to give them the attention I would like.

Well, crap. A tropical storm came through and messed things up for both BBSes on October 29th. And it took me until today to realize it. Still, both BBSes are back. Supra is still as it was and Color 64 is about to go through the promised “big reset” but this being 2020 it has…

It appears The Fone Company Supra 128 flavor is crashed and unfortunately the custodian is unable to restore it, as below is the current SysOp’s view. It WILL be back in the PM of 8/6 (EDT). And the issue behind the crash will contribute to Supra 128 v4.2.? Thank you for giving a shit!

There has been a stagnation in development because paying work keeps the power on for the fun stuff. The Fone Company BBSes went down for a few days because of a power outage. Not everything rebooted smoothly. But they are up now at tfcbbs.com:6400 (Supra 128 version) and tfcbbs.com:6464 (Color 64 version).

I will admit I dove into the Telnet BBS scene head-first anxiously wanting to get a BBS back up. But I didn’t thoroughly investigate everything I needed. There is a previous post on that so I won’t repeat it. What this post is about is the connectors between the PC and the Commodore. As it…

After running solidly for a full day around 11PM Tuesday night Supra decided it would go tits up and throw “RS-232 framing error, check baud rate” errors which made the software think a user had disconnected before hitting the graphic detection prompt. After futzing around with it for about an hour I gave up and…

So I upgraded the site to Supra 4.6 thanks to WD Stewart sharing the code with me. It’s super solid and has some amazing features I am dying to try out but there is a problem: all of those Swiftlink enhancements conflict with BBS Telnet Server. I spent a good portion of my weekend trying…
